Coastal, Without the Cliché

A coastal home can feel rooted in place without relying on a catalog of nautical references.

For me, coastal design begins with environmental conditions: light, salt air, shade, wind, vegetation, and the way a home transitions between inside and outside.

That usually means a quieter visual language. Materials can be pale without being sterile, texture can carry more weight than pattern, and openings can be composed to frame landscape rather than simply maximize glass.

The result is a home that feels connected to its setting because of how it performs and how it is experienced, not because it is decorated with a theme.
